Australia is a big continent that has required some massive infrastructure to turn it into the modern economy that it now is. With the help of construction companies Sydney built the harbour bridge as well as the Opera House. The bridge itself is a great example of how infrastructure can become an icon over time. But does it all have to be big building projects to get noticed in Australia?
Of course it doesn’t, in fact, while large parts of Australia need big projects most of our cities and towns are built upon well planned smaller projects. This means good hospitals, nursing homes, roads and other transport improving the lives of many of Australia’s citizens. It is not just builders Sydney has to thank for the great projects that have turned it into a world class city.

Development and infrastructure comes in all shapes and sizes and it is not just large projects that employ construction companies in Sydney. In fact, infrastructure itself implies a complex ecosystem of roads, buildings, transport and other public amenities that link up to create a community. Without the medium sized projects being completed by builders in Sydney the larger projects would be pointless.
It is also not just about providing enough housing for people but the right type of housing. It is no good having a lot of apartment building when there are people requiring nursing homes and retirement villages. Likewise, perfect roads need to be accompanied by good parks and other recreation areas to build a proper community. It is also the goal of development to ‘link up’ previous developments and take advantage of existing infrastructure.
